MEET THE FOUNDER
Ms. Cindy, a remarkable mother, commenced her culinary odyssey in the heart of Costa Rica, igniting her passion for baking and cooking at the tender age of 7. Her journey began as she assisted at her neighbour's bakery, instilling in her the foundations of both culinary artistry and business management from a very young age.

Her quest for culinary excellence led her around the globe, Ms. Cindy honed her skills by mastering French pastry through a baking course in France and achieving certification in crafting savoury delights at the renowned Blue Elephant School in Thailand. Eventually culminating in the establishment of her business in Singapore. Starting Mamacitas at Lau Pa Sat amid the vibrant city, Ms. Cindy successfully balanced entrepreneurship with caring for her children.

Despite initial success, the pandemic posed challenges, leading Cindy to temporarily close her business to support her son's battle with Crohn's disease and Colitis. One day, her son experienced severe gut pain, and the doctor recommended an expensive treatment. Confronted with financial constraints, Cindy explored alternative solutions and stumbled upon the extraordinary efficacy of carefully curated meals, easing her son's pain in just six months.

Empowered by this triumph, Cindy made the strategic decision to relocate Mamacitas to the lively Haji Lane. Equipped with a business diploma from NUS, she reopened Mamacitas with an unyielding dedication to authenticity. Drawing inspiration from the nutritious meals she crafted for her son, Cindy sources ingredients from South America and halal suppliers to ensure the highest quality. Today, Mamacitas proudly holds the distinction of being Singapore's exclusive provider of wholesome Costa Rican cuisine, garnering recognition in esteemed publications like Time Out and Burpple.
